Oh Karl

Karl Lagerfeld has done it again. Chanel's new resort collection for '11 consisted of maxi crocheted dresses, trouser suits, denim-on-denim outfits, and eeny weeny bikinis. What I always enjoy about Lagerfeld's shows (besides the clothes which is a given) is the ambiance. He transports the viewer to a destination far far away, with the sights and sounds of the show. Lagerfeld's go-to models such as Abby Lee, Natasha Poly, and Anja Rubrik graced, in this case, the road! Their entrance was not of the traditional backstage setting, but speedboats. Check out the shortened version of the show here.

Besides the new collection, Lagerfeld is been busy at work releasing his short film Remember Now. The film centers around the young, rich, and beautiful of Saint-Tropez. The gorgeous cast includes Elisa Sednaoui,Baptiste Giabiconi, and Heidi Mount all dressed head-to-toe in Chanel. Here were my favorite outfits from the film.

French actor, Pascal Greggory stars as the main character, and one can not help but think that his character is representative of Lagerfeld himself. Towards the end of the film, Lagerfeld actually makes an appearance. However representative or not, Lagerfeld is able to create an ambiance much like the one in his recent resort collection. One might think that the film is a random assortment of scenes, however the film, like all of the Lagerfeld's collections, seem to have a subliminal message that the designer sets in everything he does through sound, setting, and most importantly clothes.

Below is the trailer but if you want to see the whole film on youtube click: Part 1, Part 2.

Sorry about the weird alignment of the video. I'm working on it!
