White All Over

As many of the major Resort collections come to a close, obvious versatility between all the shows has never been more apparent however there has been a common denominator. Resort! From Wang to Pucci, the ‘it’ girl seems to be traveling to some place glamorous and exotic. Although not everyone can manage to escape to St. Tropez for the week, the clothes this season are fit for just that. And what better way to express this message then through the color white?

CFDA Fashion Awards 2010

As a streamline of the industry's best hit up the Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center for the CFDA Fashion Awards, numerous of the world's top models and celebrities came baring tribute to the evening's nominees. Designers strolled around with model and/or celebrity in hand, showing off their latest designs.

Here are some of my top picks from the night.

Sarah Jessica Parker in Alexander McQueen

Michael Kors and Gwyneth Paltrow, in dress by the designer

Zac Posen with Devon Aoki, in a dress by the designer. I love the Karl Lagerfeld inspired silver cut-off gloves on Aoki, gives the outfit a cute touch.

Jason Wu and Rachel Weisz, in dress by the designer (Wu's latest Resort collection!)

I was really pleased with the winners this year, as Marc Jacobs grabbed the award for Womenswear Designer of the Year, a well deserved win. Menswear Designer went to David Neville and Marcus Wainwright for Rag and Bone, while the Accessory Designer of the Year Award went to Alexis Bittar. The Geoffery Beene Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Michael Kors and the International Award to Christopher Bailey for Burberry. Other awards included Womenswear to Jason Wu, Menswear to Richard Chai, Accessory Design to Alexander Wang and Fashion Icon to Iman. Last but certainly not least, the Board of Directors' Special Tribute Award was honored to the late Alexander McQueen.

Jason Wu, Richard Chai and Alexander Wang take home CFDA Awards. Aren't they the cutest?

Wu, Wow on Flowers!

Jason Wu recently debuted his resort collection for '11. The collection was quite different to that of his last resort collection, as this time the Wu woman seemed to emulate tom-boyish qualities, with the straw hats and menswear pants. However, to balance the collection out there was quite a lot of femininity with a repetition of the same floral print. This past season floral prints have found its way to large chain stores, and in my honest opinion its becoming major overkill. I'm not a total fan of those microscopic flowers seen on about everything, however Wu's floral print was gorgeous. He stuck to a black silhouette for the flower, with a bold color serving as the backdrop of the garment.

The first few looks of the collection has that tom-boyish feel. Its almost a bit Coco, with the tweed jacket and black and white striped shirt. Also, make a note... safari shorts are back in this summer!

The mood totally changes with these playful floral prints. I especially love the cut of the coral dress. It's very fresh for summer yet still maintains an air of sophistication.

What do you think of the collection? A hit or miss?
